Emily Banks is a doctoral candidate at Emory University, where she also teaches as a lecturer in the Creative Writing Program. Her first book of poems, Mother Water, will be published by Lynx House Press in 2019.┬áHer critical work focuses on female sexuality and the gothic in late-nineteenth through mid-twentieth-century American women’s literature.

Emily received her BA from UNC-Chapel Hill and her MFA from the University of Maryland. Originally from Brooklyn, she currently enjoys living in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood.
