Emily Banks is a doctoral candidate at Emory University, where she also teaches as a lecturer in the Creative Writing Program. Her first book of poems, Mother Water, will be published by Lynx House Press in 2019. Her critical work focuses on female sexuality and the gothic in late-nineteenth through mid-twentieth-century American women’s literature.
Emily received her BA from UNC-Chapel Hill and her MFA from the University of Maryland. Originally from Brooklyn, she currently enjoys living in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood.
